In 2024 the Tornado brand of commercial vacuums launched a new line of battery powered cordless vacuums. The goal of this campaign was to demonstrate how customers can work more efficiently with this system of vacuums. We accomplished this by showing both the benefits of being cordless, and how easy it is to change out the batteries across the line of products. This launch video marks the first instance of the brand using color grading to emphasize brand colors, and to marry the look of the static ads with the video content. I created the majority of the digital ads, and for the video I was the director, 2nd camera operator, editor, and motion graphics animator.
Tornado introduced an update to its Vortex line of scrubbers and our team was tasked with creating a short ad video along with digital ads and banners. The video concept was created by our art director, and I was in charge of storyboarding, directing, 2nd camera operator, and editing.
In 2021 Tornado updated their style guide with new fonts, motifs, icons, and colors. My role in this update was to revise the style of photography used in print materials and digital ads. The concept was to use strong blacks and greys to create focus on the ‘Tornado Yellow’ highlights and touchpoints on the machines. This tied in with Tornado’s other branding strategy that focused on ease of use. By highlighting these touchpoints we could easily explain through visuals how simple the machines are to operate.
